December 26: Gingerbread Island

Gingerbread houses are on display at the Sheraton through January 1....this is a small part of the "Rudolph"-themed house, showing Sally on the island of misfit toys.

December 19: The Door to Apt 13

This dollhouse-sized door is resting on a pipe on Bell Street. I didn't try the knob to see what was on the other side.

December 18: Curley and Moe

Curley the camel and Moe the donkey are visiting Swanson's through the end of the holidays, and their likenesses ride on the elaborate model train inside the nursery.

December 17: Shadow Tree

December 16: Native Flora

Moss and ferns seem happy to root themselves just about anywhere.

December 15: Caught Red-Handed

The neighbor's cat has developed an unhealthy interest in the birds that congregate at our suet feeder.

December 10: Lunar Eclipse

November 27: View from the Pier

November 26: Bell Street Pier

November 25: Opportunists

There are probably over a dozen varieties of moss all co-existing on this curb. If we have another cold spring in 2012 we'll probably all be covered over in moss.

November 19: Rime

November 18: Wood Cricket

People at PATH travel far and wide, and bring home some amazing things. This cricket made of wood shavings is tiny and exquisite.

November 17: Frieze

November 16: Friends/Enemies

The unlit part of the sign reads "Pakistani"....evidently the longstanding feud between the countries continues, with India the winner of this round.

November 15: Power of Suggestion

This alley-facing "window" has its own windowbox (filled with moss).

November 13: Storefront

November 12: Double Duty

This is a light sconce on a Westlake Ave. building that shows a map of the neighborhood and a brightly lit spot to show "you are here".
